'NYAJ Blue' fans sad at end of 12-year run

No ifs, ands or bare butts about it, the groundbreaking police drama 'NYAJ Blue' left millions of fans feeling blue as it ended its 12-year run recently. 'Blue' star Joe Miner, who played tough-guy detective Joe Slipowitz in the Emmy-winning series, ended the show in fine fashion, using his slide rule to precisely solve the mystery of a notorious pickax murderer who had terrorized the mining town that was the setting for the series. Looking back at the program's 261-episode run, Joe waxed poetic: "Yes, 'Blue,' it's true, has faded to black. But mark my words: Joe will be back."
