Say it ain't so, Joe!
Joe isn't a contender - if you believe Sylvester Stallone. "It is discrimination, plain and simple," Joe claims. "Rocky didn't even give me a chance. Once he learned I was a 'mascot,' he told me to get out." In January, Joe auditioned for a spot on "The Contender," a new unscripted reality series about the search for the next boxing superstar that starts Monday, March 7. The television show follows 16 professional boxers as they come to a training camp to follow their dream of becoming a champion boxer. Stallone and Sugar Ray Leonard are the show's hosts and boxing mentors. "Sugar Ray was cool with me, but Stallone wouldn't budge," Joe adds. "I think I could have gone the distance."
