Joe Helps Get Charles to the Altar

The long-awaited wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles was nearly delayed again -- this time not for a funeral but a flat tire.
The prince’s limousine was about seven miles from Windsor Castle when the left front tire blew out, causing the vehicle to swerve out of control and flip over. Fortunately, Joe Miner was behind the vehicle when the accident occurred and let the prince take his ride, a formula car that can go from zero to 60 mph in a little more than three seconds. The open-wheeled, “Indy-style” racer got the groom to his wedding within minutes. As a thank you, the happy couple asked Joe to join the nuptials as an honorary groomsman. At a gathering later that evening, Joe toasted the newlyweds, saying they would “live happily ever after.”
