About NYAJ

NYAJ is not your average website. NYAJ is all about Joe - Not Your Average Joe.

For decades, UMR's mascot, Joe Miner, has symbolized the pioneering spirit and rugged individualism that are the hallmark traits of UMR students and graduates. But Joe was in need of a makeover. His timeworn, scruffy look had become outdated. So we called in some makeover experts to help Joe out and - voila! - NYAJ was born.

Nowadays, you're likely to see Joe out and about all over campus, all over town, and even in the news. This website is dedicated to bringing you the latest news about Joe, and reporting "Joe Sightings" as they happen.

NYAJ also pays tribute to you and all the other Not Your Average Joes who, by virtue of their UMR connection, are in many ways extraordinary. The Profiles section of this website includes some real-life NYAJs who are doing cool things.
